The model/serial tag is usually a printed sticker or metal plate. Common locations by appliance type:
Inside the fridge compartment, along the side wall, or behind the crisper/produce drawer.
Inside the door frame, on the front-facing edge, or on the back of the top panel.
Inside the door frame, or on the inside of the lint filter housing.
On the edge of the door, visible when the door is open.
Inside the storage drawer at the bottom, or along the door frame.
Inside the door frame, along the edge visible when the door is open.
Thermador (part of BSH Home Appliances, along with Bosch) encodes the manufacture date into an "FD" code found within the serial number:
Unlike LG or GE, Thermador's code fully encodes the year — there's no decade ambiguity, so we can show you one confident year instead of a range.
This tool is based on Thermador's publicly documented serial number format and is provided as a helpful estimate. It is not an official Thermador lookup service, and results should be treated as a best estimate rather than a certainty.
Enter the serial number from the model tag above. We'll find the "FD" code and decode the exact month and year it was manufactured.
Bosch is also part of BSH Home Appliances and uses this same FD-code format — try our dedicated Bosch Age Lookup tool.
Double-check you copied the full serial number, including any letters. If it genuinely isn't there, give us a call — our technicians work on Thermador appliances daily and can often estimate the age from the model and condition.
Once you know how old your Thermador appliance is, our technicians can help you decide whether a repair still makes sense — try our Repair or Replace tool or call us for a same-day estimate.
