The model/serial tag is usually a printed sticker or metal plate. Common locations by appliance type:
Inside the fridge compartment, along the side wall, or behind the crisper/produce drawer.
Inside the door frame, on the front-facing edge, or on the back of the top panel.
Inside the door frame, or on the inside of the lint filter housing.
On the edge of the door, visible when the door is open.
Inside the storage drawer at the bottom, or along the door frame.
Inside the door frame, along the edge visible when the door is open.
Samsung uses a 15-character serial number with the date code near the end:
Why we show more than one possible year: because Samsung's year letter repeats every 20 years, a given letter is genuinely ambiguous between years two decades apart. Our tool shows every realistic candidate year rather than guessing — here's how to narrow it down further:
This tool is based on Samsung's publicly documented serial number format and is provided as a helpful estimate. It is not an official Samsung lookup service, and results should be treated as a best estimate rather than a certainty.
Enter the full 15-character serial number from the model tag above. We'll read the year letter and month code and show you every realistic manufacture year that letter could match.
Double-check you copied the entire serial number, including any letters at the start or end. Samsung's date code only works with the full 15-character format — a shortened or partial serial can't be reliably decoded.
Because that's genuinely all the serial number tells you. Samsung's year letter repeats every 20 years, so any tool claiming a single certain year from a Samsung serial alone is guessing — we'd rather be upfront about the real limitation than give you false confidence.
